Breakfast with Stephanie

january 23. 2009

There are some people you meet in life that when you talk to them, and listen to them share their life and passion, you can automatically tell they are 100% genuine, full of love, can even see Jesus in them. Today, I had breakfast with Stephanie Fay from Stephanie Fay Photography (check out her stuff at www.stephaniefayblog.com). I was so excited to ask a few questions and walk away with a little more knowledge of photography. However, I walked away with so much more than that and am so thankful. I walked away encouraged, motivated, with a whole lot more knowledge, and a new friend.

I am so excited to start this journey of photography and learn from amazing people like Stephanie along the way.

Dream Big

january 12. 2009

We had an assignment in 4th grade where the teacher asked "if we could live anywhere in the world where would it be?". We had to take that assignment and research the place and present it to our class. 4th graders are amazingly creative and people presented places like Belize, Australia, Egypt, Africa, Florence...and then there was me...I walked up in front of my class and presented why I wanted to live in Nebraska! That's right...Nebraska...why? I had never been there, I had never even known anyone from Nebraska, but I liked the way Nebraska was pronounced.

Looking back on that assignment it actually revealed something about my personality...I have a hard time dreaming big. I am practical, and a worrier, and think way too much about the process and not the big picture. One of my goals for 2010 is to look at my life, look at the things I love, the things I want to accomplish and to dream big! It is cheesy but the sky is the limit!

mark + dray engagement

january 11. 2009

Usually when you see a couple that starts dating when one or both are in high school you can almost bet that they will not get married. However, when Wil and I moved to Prescott 3 years ago we met Mark and Dray who had been dating about 6 months. She was a junior in high school, he had just graduated, they were young, but looking at them Wil and I both thought their love was genuine. They were affectionate with each other, sweet to each other, encouraging to each other, and laughed easily with one another! It has been an honor to watch them mature together and their love grow over the past three years.

Mark and Dray you are two people who understand what true love is and I have no doubt you will be even better together married. Congratulations and here is to happy wedding planning.

Dray you are beautiful!

Beautiful Arrowhead

january 4. 2009

There is beauty in everything. You just have to open your eyes and look around and see what an amazing artist God is. He puts together the most beautiful colors and knows just how to bounce light to create spectacular sights. Last week we had the opportunity to take a mini vaca to Lake Arrowhead and I wanted to take the time I had to relax and just enjoy. Enjoy family, enjoy laughing, enjoy the beauty around me.

Here are just a few photos from a walk my husband and I went on to take in the beautiful surroundings.
